Nobu Hotel London

Nobu Hotel is part of the Nobu luxury brand built on unique ne dining experience with bedrooms in the heart of a creative East London setting.
MTD was appointed Principle Contractor to design and build the new 148 bedrooms, conference space, ancillary facilities, restaurant and bar, Nobu Hotel Shoreditch.
The project involved demolishing the exisiting building and constructing a new concrete framed building with two structural systems, the lower ground sub-structure is a mass concrete frame within a piled perimeter enclosure, and the upper floors constructed from a post tensioned concrete slab. The post tensioning system is a low impact methodology as it reduces the floor depth, its material content and its carbon footprint. The proposed building comprise ve above-ground storeys, containing the hotel bedrooms, reception with bar and lobby, and conference rooms. The double basement house the restaurant and bar, gym and spa including back of house sta area.
The front of house, ground floor area is the point of entry and primary welcome to the hotel. The theme of the hotel is immediately apparent, there is an ambience of refined luxury, elements of japanese style with carefully considered embellishment within strategically arranged zones throughout this space.

The development achieved Breeam Excelent rating 70.0%.
